This is one of my segmented pieces that measures about 6 1/4 inches in diameter and is 4 3/4 inches tall. There are many exotic and domestic woods in this piece, including wenge, red oak, padauk, and spalted maple. In one of the photos you can look directly down the center of this and see the twisting effect of the main bowl segments. I had to make a special fixture to cut the segments in the lower section so that I could insert the thin strips of padauk before I glued them together. This design is purely for visual enjoyment. I don’t think you’ll see another one quite like it, unless it’s another one of mine.
Don't forget that you can click on the Zoom in the lower right of any photo to bring up an even larger image to help you see all of the details in a piece.
Care involves simply wiping off the dust occasionally.
