This pencil holder uses integrated circuit chips and other electronic components as construction materials. It measures about 4 inches around at the base and is about 4 ½ inches tall. The opening at the top is about 2 ¼ inches. The top and bottom pieces are of oak and black walnut and the chips are mounted using industrial epoxy. This one has a variety of integrated circuit chips and other electronic components. I also put a piece of vinyl on the bottom of the inside to protect the items you put inside from damage rather than have them hit the hard wood.
This will make a striking statement on any desk, especially the desk of anyone in the technology or engineering field. Every one of these will be different and as I build more I will be experimenting with various chips and assembly designs. Feel free to make a request if you have a special interest in a particular type of chip or size.
