This piece is an experiment using a new tool that I built that allows me to precisely machine details on items. It measures 4 ¼ inches around and is about an inch high. It is made of basswood and has a stippled pyrography rim and the top is painted flat black. The name comes from that fact that the arcs in the surface sweep around from zero degrees in the center (a small dot) to 170 degrees on the outer arc.
This would make a great accent piece and conversation starter. It can be placed flat or perhaps could be leaned against the back wall of a small display cabinet.
