I custom make these standing magnifying glasses in my shop. These magnifying glasses come in very handy for all kinds of things you need a better look at around the home and studio. They’re stylish and functional.
The glass itself is a very high quality optical glass. It is 3” around to the outside and the glass itself is 2 5/8” diameter. It comes with a burlap cover that is not only to protect the glass when not in use but is also for safety. You don’t want to put this on a desk or table that receives direct sunlight because you could start a fire if the focused beam finds something flammable. This cover will prevent that.
This one is made of laminated maple and thin woods. It is about 11 inches tall and the base is 3 ¼ inches in diameter. The shaft is larger than most of my magnifying glasses. This makes it easier to hold, especially for those with difficulty gripper small items. The last 2 photos show examples of the magnification.
This will look great on any desk or mantle. Stamp collectors, coin collectors and anyone who needs to see fine details will love them. Great as a gift or for yourself.
