First of a Series – Twigs and Epoxy with Segmented Ring Bowl – 03-25

This is the first of a series I intend to do exploring the design of using epoxy resin pours and segmented ring construction bowls. This one uses maple twigs and lumber from trees on my property plus padauk and veneers in the segmented ring. The contrast is stunning. The epoxy in the base is tinted a shimmering green and is translucent, so you can see the twigs easily within. The randomness of the twigs in the base plays nicely with the tightly ordered segments that make up the body of the bowl.
This construction takes time and effort, but I believe the results are worth it. This one measures about 6 ½ inches in diameter and is 3 inches tall.
