“Back in the Day” they used to have standing magnifying glasses on the desk of professionals and educators. Not only functional, the standing magnifying glass was always available and easy to find. I’ve found that as I’ve gotten older a magnifying glass becomes necessary more and more frequently, but finding the magnifying glass in a drawer or a box can be a chore. I’ve brought back the standing magnifying glass and I hope you find it as useful as I do.
The body is made of turned segmented wood. It is about 10 inches tall and the base is about 3 inches. The glass itself is a very high quality optical glass with a solid brass frame. It is 3” around to the outside and the glass itself is 2 5/8” diameter. It comes with a burlap cover that is not only to protect the glass when not in use but is also for safety. You don’t want to put this on a desk or table that receives direct sunlight because you could start a fire if the focused beam finds something flammable. This cover will prevent that.
This will look great on any desk or mantle. Stamp collectors, coin collectors and anyone who needs to see fine details will love them. Great as a gift or for yourself. If you would like one of a specific height or using certain woods just send me a message and I’ll work with you to create one just for you.
